Richard Halstead has spent his entire professional career immersed in the subject of portraiture. He is an educator, lecturer and the author of published articles on portraiture as a unique tradition and art form. He has painted commissioned portraits for public figures, universities, corporations and families in the Chicago area, New York, Toronto, and beyond. His portraits hang in the Hall of Governors at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois; the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis; the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.; and prestigious university, corporate and private collections across the country and abroad. His studio is located in Evanston, IL.
